1492 Oak Reserve 2007, Don Cristobal |

A deep, rich colour, with ripe blackberries and vanilla on the nose, these flavours also come through on the palate alongside dried fruits and a hint of cigar box. A beautifully made wine, this has complexity with balance and a good long finish. This wine was greatly enjoyed by the author of this tasting note on a Sunday surrounded by family feasting on a roast chicken in a rich red wine gravy. The older generation around the table, more used to the wines of Bordeaux, showed their appreciation by finishing it very quickly. |
